CatteryCam - your
owners are watching you!
Here
at the Alucia Boarding Cattery we are exploring the concept of
providing real time video pictures of our guests that can be accessed
from anywhere in the world via the Internet.
We
are currently using an AXIS 2100 IP surveillance camera connected
to our network making use of the ADSL connection to make the images
it captures accessible via the Internet.
To
view the live video stream from our CatteryCam, click on the image
on the right. The first time you visit the camera you will be
prompted to download an Active X script published by Axis. Once
installed you will be able to view the live images.
The
live video stream is currently accessible to everyone but our
intention is to offer a private 'cats eye view' for our guests
owners, where they control what they see and who has access to
the images.
When
we do not have a guest who wants to brave the 'big brother catcam'
we shall be showing a general view of the cattery and the surrounding
Cambridgeshire fens.
Please
be aware that the live video image requires a fast Internet connection
such as broadband. While it is possible to see the image using
a 56k dial up modem we would not recommend it.
The
image on the right is provided using a standard web cam with a
refresh time of approximately 240 seconds and a matching automatic
page refresh rate.
If
you have any thoughts or suggestions on the subject please email

your feedback will help us develop this service.
